Don’t bend your path to suit anyone else’s expectation, but shrink your timeline.
Take what you’ve projected for 6 months and compress it into 3.
Take half the time and go even further than you would have.
When you sit in a room with everyday people, you become an everyday person. When you sit in a room with everyday people every once in a while, you realize that you have a switch that you can flip at any moment that they don’t.
That switch is accessible partly because of vitality, but I would attribute the larger part to the disposal of beliefs. This combination creates a surge that is available at any given moment.
These are the ingredients confidence is made up of:
Vitality and disposal of beliefs.
The physical ability to go and the mental acuity to go no matter what anyone else says or thinks.
If you’ve developed this trust in yourself and the capacity to disregard interference, you can become lethal.
Only the sharpness of your teeth cut through years of complacency. No longer will you settle for grazing with ground-down herbivore teeth. You’ve found the ability to express the full spectrum and now you can be deadly at the drop of a hat.
That’s a fully functioning human.
How does one develop the energy needed for this?
Discontent.
You have to be absolutely monomaniac about no longer living the life of an automaton. Both pieces will be excruciating and painful whether you are shaving a single layer or hacking off an entire chunk at a time.
But, to get to that place, it must become most painful not to do it at all.
